What does that mean? What and who is a Para-Counsellor and what does he or she do?
Para-counsellors or lay counsellors are not professionally trained counsellors. They are people who do not have formal counselling qualifications but who, by virtue of their work, would need to provide some forms of counselling to people they serve… https://www.news.gov.hk/isd/ebulletin/en/category/ontherecord/080709/html/080709en11001.htm
As we continue to face challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many of us will need help, many of us will need a listening ear and a supportive friend. Many companies will need to equip someone to look after the health and well-being of staff. The Para-Counselling (WSQ) helps to prepare you for a role that you may be thrusted into without you knowing it.
You need to make sure that you are READY and PREPARED to provide support when called upon.
Because the role you will play is important, the Para-Counselling (WSQ) course is provided with up to 90% funding. The course is also SkillsFuture Credit eligible so you can also use your SkillsFuture Credit to pay the balance NETT FEE.
